Spite: Shut Up and Take It Like A Man (6 of 6)

George, Again

Many large companies and governments are caught in lies of Costanzaesque proportion every day. This behavior is not surprising or even that annoying for a cynical bastard like myself. It is the lies and denials that follow the initial revelation that make my blood boil. Unlike these giant organizations, George has nowhere to turn when he is caught in a lie, and perhaps that is what makes his behavior endearing. George's life sucks. He ultimately bungles every great job, gorgeous girlfriend, or sweet deal that comes his way. At the end of the day George gets what's coming to him, in spades. If only I could believe this was true for the others mentioned above. But alas, Saddam is going to be in power for a long time; the Navy will drum McVey, and others they find, out of the service; the tobacco companies will shift their markets and take a relatively small hit to the bottom line; and once Microsoft has full control of the Internet this article will be just another 404 error.
